“Rapids” captures the mesmerizing movement of water as it cascades over logs and rocks at the Lower Falls of Tahquamenon Falls State Park. Shot from a low angle on the platform near the falls, this photograph emphasizes the sheer force and dynamic flow of the tannin-rich waters, with swirling currents and soft, golden hues caused by the cedar and hemlock forests surrounding the river.
The long exposure technique gives the rapids a smooth, flowing appearance, enhancing the contrast between the rushing water and the stationary elements, such as logs and rocks submerged in the river.
