Whitefish Point Lighthouse – Limited Edition Print (Only 25 Available)
This captivating photograph of Whitefish Point Lighthouse showcases the historic maritime landmark that has stood sentinel over Lake Superior since 1849. As the oldest working lighthouse on Lake Superior, Whitefish Point has guided countless ships safely through the treacherous waters of the “Graveyard of the Great Lakes,” an area known for over 200 shipwrecks, including the infamous SS Edmund Fitzgerald.
Beyond its rich maritime heritage, Whitefish Point is a crucial site for bird migration, with the Whitefish Point Bird Observatory conducting valuable research on the species that pass through the region. The lighthouse, surrounded by breathtaking views of Lake Superior and the scenic Upper Peninsula, is an iconic symbol of Michigan’s nautical history.
